Arrangements are being made with Brian and Sandi Thompson-Royer, Mission co-workers serving in Guatemala, to visit Park Church on Thursday, May 12th. We feel very fortunate to be able to host them again. Please mark your calendars and come enjoy their time with us. There will be a pot-luck dinner followed by a program. You won’t want to miss it.
In July, 2015, Brian and Sandi witnessed a U.S./Guatemalan partnership walking together in the closing of a private school through scholarships by a partner church in the U.S. Over 100 students needed to by placed in new schools. They heard the children’s dreams of becoming veterinarians, engineers, and doctors. Together they are moving forward to support these students in many ways in their new schools.
In October, Brian and Sandi helped organize and co-lead a delegation called “Heartbreak to Hope”. This program was designed to listen to stories of sexual violence in Guatemala and together move forward finding ways to address these issues. Plans for 2016 include more workshops on domestic and sexual violence, hoping to create allies and break the silence.
Plan to meet Brian and Sandi at a pot-luck dinner at Park Church on Thursday, May 12th for a very eye-opening presentation.
