CHRISTMAS JOY OFFERING
The Christmas Joy Offering is a Presbyterian Church USA program that provides financial assistance to current and former church workers and their families and also provides opportunities for deserving students to attend Presbyterian related racial ethnic colleges and schools.
The assistance program offers current and retired church workers with urgent financial and housing needs as well as pastors with vocational leadership needs. These are the workers that have lead and supported the Presbyterian church for much of their lives. The students, faculty and staff of PC(USA)-related racial ethnic colleges and schools are in need of spiritual and material support. The institutions provide quality education to those who have contributed to the church and the world. Students are educated in the professions of their choice in an environment which supports and nurtures racial and ethnic heritage.
Your generous gifts to the Christmas Joy Offering will shine the One True Light of Christ’s Love. Envelopes for the Christmas Joy Offering can be found on the table in the Chapel starting December 4. Thank You!
Each year every member of our church is requested to pay a fee called Per Capita. Per Capita is an assessment to help fund the Blackhawk Presbytery, the Synod and the General Assembly. Over the past several years, Park Presbyterian Church as well as other churches within the Blackhawk Presbytery have not met their obligation and the Presbytery reserve funds are now nearly depleted; forcing a reduction in pay for our General Presbyter. The Park Church session is urging all member if possible to pay the 2016 per capita fee of $35.66. Payment of this fee will help to improve the dire financial situation of Blackhawk Presbytery.
